Born May 13, 1950 in Sheffield, Alabama to Ruby Evans and George Copeland which preceded her in death along with eldest brother John Evans. Susie fell asleep in death on November 20, 2021.
Susie grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, as the eldest daughter. She lived in a loving environment with her siblings John, Barbara, Cora Jones, Arthur, James, Dorothy Gray, Donna, Glenn, Rayven, Gregory, Barry and Steven Evans.
She had three beautiful daughters with three sons-in-law, that loved her very dearly, Lisa (Luther) Mickler, Tracy (Shawn) Herman, and Cassandra (Anthony) Campbell, generations of grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Susie was a role model, very loving and cared about her family and friends.
In Susie’s early years she attended Maynard, Beardsley, and Rule High School. She worked in the restaurant industry and married John Tory. She was a loving mother and wife who loved to cook, dance, sew, fish, decorate, travel and road motorcycles. She was fashionable and never left the house without her red lipstick. In her remarkable life she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses, baptized June 12, 1993. She was a loyal servant who enjoyed being a pioneer and sharing the word of God with everyone she met. Susie also believed in The Resurrection from the dead, John 5: 28- 29 They will hear Jesus Christ’s voice and come out of the grave, and Acts 24:15 The Resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous, so her hope is to see her family and friends again on the paradise earth.
