Tara Michelle Glanton, age 50, of Knoxville, received her wings on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. A licensed Cosmetologist for over 30 years, she was well-known throughout the city.
Tara was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin Glanton Sr. and Cloteal Glanton; brothers, Charles DeWayne Sutton and Arthur "Scoody" Kimber; uncle, Cortez Cosby and nephew, Cortez Underwood.
Left to cherish her memory are her beautiful daughter, Shatara Glanton; adorable grandson, Quaadir Goins; loving mother, Lady Gaines and father, Michael Sutton; sister, Rochelle Strickland; uncles, Ervin Glanton Jr., Ronnie, and Walter Strickland; nieces, Paris Watson, Jordan Stacy and Myeisha Underwood; great-nephews, Morgan Williams, Zepheniah Jr. and Zaylan Nyane and great-niece, Messiah Underwood.
Friday, October 1, 2021, a public walkthrough is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Payne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. A Homegoing Celebration will follow for immediate family and close friends. Pastor Steve A. Simpson is the eulogist. Interment at New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, where a white dove release will conclude the service. All expressions of love may be delivered to the church the morning of the walkthrough.
