Teresa Marie Stenson-George Obituary

Teresa Marie Stenson-George was born on March 30, 1969 in Chicago, IL and moved to Knoxville, TN at an early age. Entered her heavenly home on Friday, June 16, 2023. Teresa was the daughter of the late Richard Stenson Sr. and the late Patricia Peacock-Scruggs. Teresa known as “Tee” will be deeply missed by the lives she touched over the years. She was a loving person that cared deeply for her family. She was loved by everyone that knew her. She was employed by Brewer-Ingram & Fuller Architects (her second family).


Teresa loved her gospel music especially her favorite artists Commissioned, Fred Hammond and The Clark Sisters. At a young age Teresa was a singer and drummer in her dads group along with her brother. She also enjoyed R&B artists like, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Chante Moore and India Arie. Teresa enjoyed watching Scooby-Doo, InuYasha, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and the Discovery Channel. She also enjoyed listening to her Audible’s. Her all-time favorite was shopping for the newest Electronic Gadgets she was always looking for a new recipe to cook and it was Christmas every day at her home including the tree.


She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wash and Hattie Stenson; maternal grandparents, Bishop W.T. Peacock and Geneva Butler; father, Richard Stenson Sr.; mother, Patricia Peacock-Scruggs; uncles, Albert and Willie Stenson, Ralph, Daniel and Benjamin Peacock; aunts, Dorothy Stenson and Ruth Daniels; step- son, Dearies George.


She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Benny George; daughter, Tamiyah Stenson; step-daughters, Brittany (Louis Drake) George and Jordan Roberts; stepson, Demetric George; brother, Richard Stenson Jr.; grandchildren, Kiias George, Alyssa Jones, Marcel Drake, Suriah and Demetric George Jr; uncles, Bishop Thomas (Merlita) Peacock, Napoleon “Andy” Peacock, , Elder Jeremiah “Jerry” (Alice) Peacock; aunts, Mamie Thompson, Mary Nance, Nora (Eugene) Pressey, Ruth (Alex) Ford, Evangelist Elder Erma Jean Gilbert; devoted cousins, Lona Thompson, Latasha Stenson, Mechell Crowe, Cossandra Thompson and Darlene Dean; extended mom, Ruth Fairfax extended brothers, Samuel (Vyckea) Moss Jr., Reuben Mitchell and Preston Davis Sr.; extended sisters, Connie Fairfax-Hodge, Katina (James) Davis, Tiffanie (Darvin) Brown, and Taquisha Workman; good friends, Anjonique Woodruff and Rick Rice; and a host of other relatives and friends.
