Tracy Denise Reed

June 10, 1980 ~ August 6, 2023 (age 43) 43 Years Old

Obituary

Our beloved Tracy Denise Reed peacefully gained her wings on August 6, 2023 at Parkwest Hospital.  She was the bright and only child born to Amon and Willie Reed on June 10, 1980 in Knoxville, TN.  She attended Karns High School where she graduated in 1999 and went on to complete her Associate of Arts Degree at Pellissippi State Community College in 2004.  Tracy’s church home was Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where for decades her family remained actively involved as she grew up singing in the youth choir.

Tracy’s love of working with people led her to an extensive career in customer care where she worked for Elavon (Nova) for almost a decade then continued her profession at Pellissippi State Community College for several years as an Account Clerk for the Business and Finance Department.

Her beautiful smile and witty sense of humor made her the life of the party.  She loved to see everyone happy.  Like her mother, she always had one of her famous jokes on hand and made sure you had a good “belly” laugh before she left.  Tracy held her family near and dear to her heart.  Those she loved could always count on a phone call to say, “just checking on you” and she never hung up without saying I love you.

Tracy was a devoted and caring daughter who loved her parents beyond words.  Those who know her best know nothing compared to the bond she shared with her mother.  They were inseparable, you wouldn’t find one without the other, giggly like little teenagers. They were carbon copies one could say as they shared the love of laughter and family like no other.  Tracy was also a big Daddy’s Girl.  He is the one who kept her going and focused after the untimely passing of her mother.  She dedicated her time and energy to her father as he battled his illness making sure he received the best care until his passing in December 2022.

Tracy is preceded in death by her parents, Amon and Willie Reed; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Zurada Chandler and paternal grandparents, Amon and Vadith Reed.

She leaves to cherish her memory sister Charlotte Willis; brother Demond Reed; niece Feyth Reed; aunts B. Yvette Atkins, Hazel Chandler, Emma (George) Tate all of Knoxville, TN, Lois Cooley of Accokeek, MD, Alene (Wallace) Green of Bear, DE, Louise Miles of Dover, DE, and Sandra (Charles) Knaff of Harriman; uncles Jimmy Chandler of Knoxville, TN, Henry (Kathy) Chandler of Midwest City, OK and Kenneth Teasley of Knoxville, TN; a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.

A very special thank you to her dedicated uncle, Jimmy Chandler (who lovingly called Tracy Poonsy), devoted cousins, Lori (Nikki) Hensley, Felicia (Chandler) Laster, Danielle Harris and physician, Dr. Udit Chaudhuri, for their unconditional love that supported Tracy until the end.
