Vera was the matriarch of her family, a loving mother whose nurturing essence extended as a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She embraced the role of aunt with warmth, and her friends knew her as nothing less than family. Her dedication to her kin was mirrored in her spiritual life; as a devoted member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church, her faith was a cornerstone, guiding her throughout her life.

Professionally, Vera gave over 25 years of service to the Y-12 National Security Complex, where her colleagues respected her for her steadfast work ethic and her ability to bring people together. Even outside the workplace, Vera was known for her seven-layer salad, a testament to her culinary prowess and her love for sharing food with others.

Vera's elegance was apparent not only in her impeccable taste in fashion and makeup but also in the way she lived her life. She was the epitome of a lady, always dressed to the nines, her makeup flawless. Carrying herself with grace, she never took a day for granted, pouring her love into the hearts of her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her hobbies were a reflection of her loving nature. Vera had a green thumb, as evidenced by the flowers she so tenderly planted and nurtured. Inside her kitchen, she was a maestro, cooking meals that would not only feed but also comfort souls. She was never one to let anyone go hungry and ensured a meal for those in need, a warm gesture that spoke volumes of her generosity.

Vera's life was a testament to the power of love, optimism, and unwavering faith. Those who had the privilege to know her will forever remember her as a woman who exemplified these virtues in every aspect of her life. Preceded in death by mother, Jennie Wrench; husband, Dewey Anderson, Jr.; brother, Eddie Cheviz; sister, Eutie Gamble; aunt, Lillie Bell Wrench; special cousins, Henry Mae Robinson and Nehemiah Chevis and nephew, Charles Harrison, bonus children; Tonya Nolan and Antionette Thrift, Jerome Threat, Derrick Bates, Willie Ward, Sam Henry Anderson, William Alexander.

Survived by loving son, Dewey Anderson, III; loving daughter, Lakeishia Anderson; grand- children, Mequila Anderson, Daisha Jones, Joseph Fields, Imonie Cribbs, Aubrey Anderson, Everly Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kenouri Anderson, Marsello Jones, Nova Hunt, Jamarquis Anderson; bonus children, Julia Anderson, Angela Duvoe, Connie Soles, Diane Ford, Connie Jackson, Pamela Thompson, Tracy Scruggs, Mamie Reynolds, William Bates and William Anderson and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
