Vicki L McKinney Obituary

Mrs. Vicki Lee McKinney, born March 10, 1954, was called to be with her Heavenly Father on October 12, 2025, at her home with her loving family. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was the second child to be born to Mabel Carter. She was a devoted member of Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church for over 40 years, where she served as a deaconess.    

Employed by the Department of Transportation for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Carter; her grandmother, Birdie Stewart, who helped raise her; her great-nephew, Kaydren Johnson; and her goddaughter, Hope Howerton-Bennett.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: Wayne McKinney; daughter: Shauna McKinney; grandchildren: Alexondria, Keondra, DaShaun McKinney, Danaja Francis; great-grandchildren: Ariah McKinney and Aylah Coefield; sister: Luretta Johnson; sisters-in-law: Brenda (John) Brabson and Tonia McKinney; brother-in-law: Austin McKinney; nieces: Charmaine (Jimmy) Reid, Jakeisha and Jaleisha Brabson; nephews: Larry D. Johnson, SR., Tarice (Carleasha) McKinney, SR., Kevin Martin; great-nieces: Victoria Johnson, TaRessa McKinney, Nylah Obitayo; great-nephews: Larry Johnson JR., Tyrell Blair, Tarice McKinney JR., Stanley Johnson; goddaughter: Erica Cowan; devoted faithful best friend: Vicki Graves; other best friends to include: Pat Carson, Pat Hill, Orlinda Gray; numerous family members, friends, and loved ones, also to include: Judy (James) Carpenter, Linda (Don) Moline, Austin East Class of ’72.
