Virginia Conley

Virginia Ann Benson Conley was born on February 19, 1956, in Knoxville, TN, to the late John and Kittie Benson.
 
Preceded in death by brothers: John Lee and Torris Benson, sisters: Phyllis Benson and Berniece Hansard, nephew: Clarence Horace.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughter: Latitia Benson Davis (Rickey Davis Sr.), devoted granddaughter; LaVieka Benson; grandson, Rickey Davis Jr., brother, Jimmy Benson; sisters, Zella (Wendell) Mims, Johnetta Mooreland of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren; DaMaya, Rikealyn, JaiQueze, Jamiracle, Tamia, Isaiah, Dereon;great-great grandchildren;Bryson, Peace, Moncier, and a  host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her friends and family surrounded her as she transitioned to being with the Lord. She was faithful and one of the founding mothers of the Universal Church of Deliverance. When her health declined, she could not attend her church, which was one of her desires. She would always say, “Even though I’m not with you, my spirit is with you!” She worked with people with physical and mental health disabilities (Child and Family Services and RHA). She had a heart of gold and was willing to be selfless when helping others. She loved the Lord and never counted it robbery to give God thanks for everything he had done in her life. She loved her family and supported them. She loved cooking a good meal for anyone that was hungry. We would like to thank “Amanda, Ruby, and Ms. Maggie” of Covenant Home Care and Hospice for their loving care.

Saturday, June 4, 2022, family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Payne Avenue Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Social distancing and face coverings are required. Funeral service to follow with Reverend R.S. Brown, Jr. as eulogist. Flowers may be delivered to the church prior to the viewing.
