Walter Wilson, Sr. Obituary

Walter was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Woodrow Z. Wilson Jr. and the late Dora C. Wilson on March 18th, 1973. Walter was the baby in the family and was spoiled by everyone!! He was EVERYONE’s little brother! Walter was an adorable baby and was always the apple of his Mothers’ eye and she was the apple of his!

He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age.

Walter attended Sarah Moore Green and graduated from Austin East High School Class of 1992. He attended South Carolina State. Walt enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He LOVED his family, especially family gatherings. Walt was a devoted friend and was blessed to have life- long friends who remained like brothers to him to this day.

When he was younger he enjoyed rapping and was known as “Wiz Kid” and competed in local talent shows. Walt was a friendly person who never met a stranger. He was laid back and seemed shy but loved to talk and was knowledgeable on almost any subject.

Walter was employed by CONNECT Ministries and cared deeply for his work family. Walter gained his love for working outdoors from his Mother! He enjoyed it so much he started his own lawncare company “Wilson Lawn Service”.

On March 17th Walter experienced some serious health issues but with prayer and great care he was improving better than expected! The last few weeks he was really happy getting to spend time with family and his friends. We knew he still missed his Mother deeply so when he left this life suddenly on Friday, May 12th we knew he was at peace and reunited with his Mother again. Walt will be forever loved and missed by his family and all who knew him.
