Obituary

Willie Tyrone Booker departed this life Friday, July 3, 2020 at Methodist Medical Center.  Born May 27, 1951 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, he was the son of C.D. and Augusta Spraggins Booker.  Willie attended Oak Ridge High School and remained an avid fan of Wildcats football and basketball.  He loved a sporty outfit, traveling, fine dining and anytime spent with his grands and great grands.  He was a true family man!  Willie met his childhood sweetheart, Deborah Hall, who would become his lifelong love, at the age of 14.  They wed October 12, 1971 and to this union four children were born.

Willie was devoted to his family and friends alike.  He always had an encouraging word and willingness to help anyone in need.  He never met a stranger! Known as the “Neighborhood Father/ Uncle;” there was never a time anyone came to him and he did not try to comfort, console, or carry them through whatever it was they were going through.  A true testament of his character, he was a faithful member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church
