Freddie Hoskey

Freddie Hoskey ,96, departed this life Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Fort Sanders Hospital. He was born January 1, 1923 to the late Thomas Hoskey Sr and Lena Mae Debose Hoskey in Egypt, Alabama.

He was employed by Y-12 as an Domestic Engineer for 35 years. Freddie was a huge wrestling fan and enjoyed working on countless lawnmowers and cars with his dog Hannibal by his side.

Preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hoskey; parents; sisters and brothers, Ruthie Mae Hoskey Davis, Ethel Hoskey Medal, Lizzie Hoskey Franklin, Thomas Jr., Jesse, Willie Maude and Sanford Hoskey Sr.

Survived by his children: daughters, Carolyn Denise Hoskey, Arnetta Vasell (James) Hoskey-Bohanon, and Diane Bank Jones; sons, Isaac Immanuel Hoskey and Freddie Hoskey Jr.; grandchildren, Jasheala L. Bohanon, James B. Bohanon Jr. and Maneka Shanta Hoskey; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Shanta Hoskey and Serenity Ja'nay Booker; brother, Harvey Hoskey Sr., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister, Mary P. Malone of Eufaula, Alabama; sister in law, Katherine Carpenter; special son, Edward Eugene (Debra) Carpenter and special friend, Larry.

Friday, June 7, 2019, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with service to follow at Wilder Street Baptist Church, 1531 Wilder Place, Knoxville, TN. Reverend Johnny Reid officiating. Interment to immediately follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery where a white dove release will conclude the service.
